Dr Hannah combines over 20 years of experience working as a Clinical Psychologist for Individuals with Intellectual Disabilities and Neurodivergence with her insights as a Mum to a Neurodivergent Household. She's seen the challenges of parenting children with additional needs from both a professional and a personal viewpoint. She has three children, two of whom are autistic. Having been widowed when her children were still pre-teenagers, she has supported them as a single parent, through the process of getting their diagnoses, EHCP and transition to a Specialist Educational Provision.
Dr Hannah studied Applied Psychology at Cardiff University before going on to Birmingham University to train as a Clinical Psychologist gaining a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. From 2003 she worked in Community Learning Disability Teams supporting children with learning disabilities, working with parents, schools, respite services, social workers and the individual children themselves.
Since 2015 she has acted as an Expert Witness, advising the family courts and court of protection regarding issues relating to cognitive capacity, parenting and neurodivergence as well as mental health issues.
At the end of 2020, Dr Hannah left the NHS and has been working in a consultancy capacity with residential schools, care providers, and individuals.
